You might remember ‘The Shadre Method’, where my amazing other half, Shadre, spilled the tea on how she stays fit by eating for her Blood Type O+. If you’re also O+, go check it out—you’ll thank me later.
But what about all my A, B, and AB friends? Don’t worry—I got you! This week, we’re covering ALL the blood types. So grab a snack (preferably one that matches your type 👀), and let’s dive in!
Hey, Skinny Readers! How’s everyone doing?
Me? Oh, I’m just fabulous, thanks for asking! It’s January 31st, which means it’s International Hot Chocolate Day! ☕🍫 Now, I don’t know about you, but here in South Africa, where the sun is out and the heat is ON, a steaming cup of cocoa sounds like absolute madness. 😅 But hey, if you’re sipping on one right now—live your best life!
Now, let’s get down to business. This week, we’re talking about something super interesting: EATING FOR YOUR BLOOD TYPE.
Sounds a little science-y, right? But trust me, it’s actually pretty cool. If you’ve been following the blog (as you should)
Wait… What Is the Blood Type Diet? 🤔

Okay, so here’s the deal. The Blood Type Diet is based on the idea that your blood type (O, A, B, or AB) determines what foods are best for your body.
This whole concept blew up in 1996 when Dr. Peter J. D’Adamo published his bestselling book "Eat Right 4 Your Type." He claimed that eating according to your blood type could reduce inflammation, boost energy, aid weight loss, and even prevent disease.
Sounds like magic? Maybe. But let’s see what’s on the menu! 🍽️
Step 1: What’s Your Blood Type?

If you don’t know your blood type yet, it’s time to find out!
🔍 How to check:✔️ Ask your doctor for a blood test.✔️ Donate blood (they usually tell you your type afterward—plus, you’re helping someone in need!)
Now, let’s get into the real juicy stuff—what you should and should NOT be eating! 👀
What to Eat Based on Your Blood Type
🅾️ Blood Type O – The Carnivore Crew 🍖🔥

If you’re Type O, congratulations—you get to eat like a caveman. This means a high-protein diet with lots of:✅ Red meat✅ Poultry✅ Fish & seafood✅ Fruits & veggies
BUT WAIT! 🚨 You’ll want to avoid:❌ Dairy, grains, beans, and anything too processed.
💡 Skinny Chef’s Tip: Let’s think chicken roulade stuffed with spinach—fancy, healthy, and totally Type O-approved.
Want to lose weight? Focus on red meat, seafood, olive oil, and spinach while steering clear of carbs!
🅰️ Blood Type A – The Plant-Based Powerhouse 🥑🌱

If you’re Type A, it’s time to embrace your inner vegetarian—your body thrives on:✅ Fruits & veggies✅ Whole grains✅ Tofu✅ Beans & legumes
❌ Avoid: Dairy, wheat, corn, and kidney beans (they might cause bloating or weight gain).
💡 Weight Loss Secret: Pineapple, olive oil, and soy are your new BFFs!
🅱️ Blood Type B – The Balanced Eater 🍳🥩

Oh, you lucky Type B folks—you get a nice, balanced diet with a little bit of everything:✅ Meat (but NOT chicken—more on that in a sec 👀)✅ Dairy✅ Fruits & veggies✅ Seafood✅ Grains
BUT… (and it’s a big but)❌ Avoid corn, wheat, lentils, peanuts, sesame seeds, and—yep—chicken! Apparently, chicken doesn’t sit well with Type B digestion.
💡 Skinny Chef’s Hack: Crostini topped with an omelet and rosa tomatoes—sounds boujee, tastes delicious, and fits your diet perfectly.
🆎 Blood Type AB – The Rare & Refined Foodie 🍣🧀

If you’re Type AB, you’re basically a mix of Type A & B, which means your diet is all about balance.
✅ Best Foods:
Tofu
Seafood
Dairy
Green veggies
❌ Avoid: Caffeine, alcohol, processed meats, and anything too acidic. Your stomach acid is lower, so digestion can be tricky.
💡 Skinny Chef’s Hack: Picture this: salmon on a bed of mashed potatoes with asparagus and cheese sauce. Yep, you’re welcome.
