Believing in a Life You Cannot Yet See

Hey Skinny Mama's. I trust you all had a blessed week.
There is something truly powerful about believing in a life that you cannot yet see.
For me, the journey of manifesting started at a very young age. Even as a child, I knew I wanted a life that was different. I couldn't always explain it, but I carried a deep feeling that there was more waiting for me beyond what I could see in front of me.
'I remember being 16 years old and watching a movie with my mom called The Secret. '

Looking back, I can honestly say that it changed my life. It introduced me to the concept that our thoughts are powerful, that what we focus on grows, and that we can intentionally create the lives we dream about.
From that moment, I started thinking differently. I began imagining where I wanted to be, what I wanted my future to look like, and most importantly, how I was going to get there.
My First Lesson in Manifesting Came From My Mother

But if I am honest, my first lesson in manifesting didn't come from a movie.
It came from my mother.
Growing up in a predominantly Afrikaans environment, I often believed that speaking English fluently was impossible for me. It felt like a world that belonged to other people.
I remember my mom saying, "Don't roll your R's." It helped me not only speak more fluently but also develop an accent that felt different. Yet my mother refused to let my environment define my future.

She fought for opportunities that would expose me to a bigger world. She removed me from spaces that limited my growth and encouraged me to believe that I was capable of more.
As I got older, I realized she was much more than my mother. She was my hero, my pillar, and my game changer.
She taught me one of the most important lessons of my life: where you start does not determine where you finish.
That lesson became the foundation of my manifesting journey.
Manifesting Is More Than Wishful Thinking

For me, manifesting has never been about simply wishing for things and hoping they magically appear.

Manifesting is about vision paired with action. It is about holding onto the fire of your dreams while taking intentional steps towards them every single day. It is about believing in possibilities while doing the work required to meet them.
My faith has also played a huge role in this journey. It has taught me that there are no limits to what God can do. It has reminded me that the dreams placed in our hearts are often much bigger than our current circumstances. Faith gives me the courage to keep going when the outcome isn't visible yet. It allows me to believe that anything and everything is possible.
When Dreams Become Reality

Today, I can look back and see moments in my life that once existed only in my imagination.
Things I prayed for.
Things I wrote down.
Things I spoke about.
Things I worked towards.
Some arrived exactly as I imagined them. Others arrived in ways I never expected.
That is the miracle of manifesting.
Not because everything appears overnight, but because over time, your thoughts, actions, faith, and persistence begin to shape your reality.
So this week, I want to share my five biggest miracles of manifesting and how they have shaped—and continue to shape—my life.
1. Believing in a Bigger Version of Myself

Before anyone else believed in me, I had to learn to believe in myself. Manifesting taught me to see potential where others saw limitations.
At a young age, I started writing. I carried a black book filled with hopes and dreams, and I realized that everything begins in the mind. I manifested completing a degree that once seemed impossible. It was so difficult that I had to physically push myself beyond my circumstances.
Today, I hold the qualifications I always dreamed of having.
It taught me to dream beyond my circumstances and trust that I was capable of becoming more.
2. Turning Dreams into Action

Every dream I've achieved started as a thought. But thoughts alone are not enough. Manifesting showed me the importance of taking action, even when I felt afraid, unprepared, or uncertain.
3. Manifesting Love and Building a Life With Intention

One of the greatest gifts manifesting has given me is intentionality. I no longer drift through life hoping things happen.
I wanted to manifest a loving, real, and supportive relationship, even though there were times when I never felt worthy of one. I was never taught how to cook, despite being very domesticated and independent. So I wrote down, line by line, exactly the kind of person I wanted in my life.
I manifested not only an amazing chef but also a partner who accepts me in every form, wants me to shine, and brings out the best in me. No worries about failing in the kitchen here—haha! Instead, he teaches me and helps bring my ideas to life with perfect execution.
4. How Faith Helped Me Manifest My Dream Home

There have been many moments when the journey didn't make sense. Moments when progress felt slow and doors seemed closed. Faith reminded me that delays are not denials.
At the age of 35, I moved into my dream apartment—everything white, surrounded by trees, and filled with absolute quiet. I could think again. Johannesburg has all of us caught up in the hustle, but home became a safe, relaxing place where I could truly manifest and dream.
I turned 35 last year, and I had a picture hanging on my wall for almost two years. Eventually, it came to life. Maybe not in the exact location I imagined, but in a way that was even better.
5. Why the Manifesting Journey Never Truly Ends

Perhaps the biggest lesson of all is that manifesting is not a destination. There is always another dream, another goal, and another level of growth waiting for us.
We evolve, our visions expand, and we continue creating.
And that is the beauty of it.
Manifesting never truly ends.
Today, I am grateful for every version of myself that dared to dream bigger. I am grateful for a mother who showed me what courage looks like. I am grateful for faith that continues to anchor me. And I am grateful for the reminder that the life we desire often begins long before we can see it.
The Greatest Miracle Is Who You Become

The miracle of manifesting isn't just achieving what you want.
It's becoming the person capable of receiving it.
And trust me, the journey is still unfolding.
I'm still dreaming.
I'm still believing.
I'm still manifesting.
And the best is yet to come.
