'My life. My moment. My forever beginning.'

Smiling woman on a beach wears a leopard print dress and headscarf. Sunlight casts stripes on her face. Bright, joyful mood.

And just like that… I said yes. 💍Hey Hey ,Skinnies, today I have something special for all of you! I am sharing a piece of my heart, a piece of my happiness. Something called true love.

He popped the question on the 28th of March 2026… and honestly, I had no clue.

It still feels like a dream I’m slowly waking up from one of those moments you replay over and over because it feels too perfect to be real.

Picture this: candles flickering softly in the sand, their glow dancing with the Ocean breeze, 23 red roses carefully laid out like a love story written just for me. A picnic blanket waited patiently, as if it knew something I didn’t yet know… and champagne sat chilled to perfection, ready to toast a moment that would change everything.

Time slowed down. My heart raced. And in that quiet, beautiful space between surprise and realization… my life shifted.

It felt like a scene from a movie  except it was

🌿 Stepping Into a New Season

A couple holding hands on a beach, smiling. She wears a patterned dress; he wears a white shirt. Waves and rocks in the background.

If you’ve been walking this journey with me, you’ll know I’ve always spoken about growth, about choosing yourself, about evolving into the woman you’re meant to be. But even with all that intention, all that inner work… I never imagined this chapter would arrive so beautifully, so unexpectedly, and so perfectly aligned.

Life has a way of surprising you when you least expect it when you’ve done the work, when you’ve healed, when you’ve let go.

Becoming a Makoti  a bride, a wife, a woman stepping into her union is more than just a title. It’s a sacred transformation. It’s emotional, spiritual, and deeply personal. It’s stepping into a role that carries history, culture, expectation… but also love, partnership, and purpose.

And now, I step into this new phase as your Skinny Makoti  still me, still grounded in everything I’ve always believed in… just evolving, just expanding, just becoming more.

This moment has filled my heart with a kind of gratitude I can’t fully put into words.

Gratitude for love that feels safe. For timing that feels divine. For a partner who feels like home. And for a future I once doubted I’d ever have.

💫 What Does “Skinny Makoti” Mean?

Close-up of a person placing a ring on another's hand. Background shows a leopard-print dress and blurred scenery, conveying a romantic mood.

Let’s redefine this together because this is bigger than just a name.

Being a Skinny Makoti is not about size it has never been about size. It’s about intention. It’s about presence. It’s about the kind of woman you choose to be every single day.

She is soft, but never weak.Strong, but never hardened.Nurturing, yet deeply independent.Rooted in tradition, but not afraid to evolve with modern life.

She is stylish not just in how she dresses, but in how she lives, how she loves, how she thinks, and how she carries herself through life.

She’s a woman who knows who she is and at the same time, humbly embraces that she is still becoming. Still learning. Still growing. Still unfolding into her highest self.

That is the essence of the Skinny Makoti.

👑 The Role of a New Wife: 2026 Edition

A smiling couple walks holding hands by the beach. The woman wears a leopard print dress; the man in a white outfit. Sunlit rocky background.

Let’s be honest the narrative has changed.

Gone are the days where being a wife meant losing yourself, shrinking yourself, or living in the shadow of someone else’s identity. That version no longer serves us.

The 2026 Makoti is intentional. She is aware. She is present.

She builds with her partner, not behind him. She communicates openly, honestly, and with emotional intelligence. She balances her career, her home, and her personal dreams not perfectly, but purposefully.

She understands that respect is not one-sided. It flows both ways. It is given, received, and nurtured.

And most importantly, she creates a home filled with peace not pressure. A space where both partners can breathe, grow, and feel seen.

Because this is not a performance. It’s not about perfection. This is a partnership real, evolving, and deeply human.

❤️ Having a Supportive Partner

A couple in patterned attire poses on a rocky beach. The woman is seated with intricate braids, while the man stands with a gentle smile.

One thing I’ve already come to understand, so clearly and so deeply, is this: who you choose matters. It matters more than we sometimes allow ourselves to admit.

A supportive partner doesn’t compete with you they complement you.

They see your vision and add to it. They hold you down without ever dimming your light. They celebrate your individuality instead of trying to reshape it. They make space for your growth, even when that growth looks different from their own.

Love, in its healthiest, most honest form, feels like peace. It doesn’t leave you guessing. It doesn’t leave you anxious. It doesn’t feel like confusion.

It feels like alignment. Like calm. Like home.

And I’m deeply grateful to be stepping into this journey with someone who understands that kind of love  the kind that allows both of us to be fully ourselves, while building something beautiful together.

🌸 Don’t Lose Yourself, Makoti

Man kisses woman's forehead on a beach. She smiles, wearing a patterned headscarf. He wears a white shirt. Sunny and affectionate mood.

Here’s a promise I’m making to myself one I hold close to my heart as I step into this new chapter… and one I want you to make for yourself too:

Do not disappear in your relationship.

Yes, build a life together.Yes, nurture your home.Yes, show up fully for your partner.

But don’t forget you.

Take yourself on solo dates the kind where you reconnect with your thoughts, your dreams, your desires. Protect your quiet time, because that’s where clarity lives. Continue pursuing your passions, the things that make your soul feel alive.

Stay connected to who you were before “us” because that version of you is the foundation of everything you’re building now.

The strongest relationships are not made of two halves trying to complete each other. They are built by two whole individuals choosing each other, every single day.

🏡 Building for Family — Near and Far

A couple on a rocky beach; woman in leopard print with shawl reading "Becoming Mrs Chikapa-Phiri," man smiles in white attire. Sandy scene.

Marriage is never just about two people it’s about the merging of worlds, histories, and hearts.

As a Skinny Makoti, I’m learning that you don’t just build for the present moment you build for what’s coming. For the family you will create. For the legacy you will leave behind.

You honor where you come from  your roots, your upbringing, your traditions while also embracing where you are going. You create space for both.

You become a bridge. Between families. Between cultures. Between old traditions and new ways of living.

It’s not always simple, but it is meaningful. It is powerful.

Because at its core, this journey is about legacy. It’s about love that extends beyond just the two of you love that grows, that reaches, that connects.

✨ Final Thoughts

A joyful couple embraces on a sunny beach, laughing. Rocks and ocean in the background. She wears a leopard print dress; he wears a white shirt.

If you had told me a year ago that I would be here, writing these words, living this reality… I wouldn’t have believed you.

But here I am.

Stepping into love.Stepping into growth.Stepping into becoming.

And this is only Part One of my journey as your Skinny Makoti.

There is so much more to share  the lessons, the laughter, the adjustments, the real and raw moments behind the beauty. The kind of moments that don’t always make it to the highlight reel, but shape you in the most powerful ways.

So stay with me, Skinny Readers…

We’re just getting started. 💕

Love,Your Skinny Makoti 🤍
